Arow Down

My head has been scrambled for a couple of weeks, probably caused by my never-ending to-do list: unanswered emails, unsent invoices, unfinished ideas and other small — yet annoying — tasks that saturate and fill up my RAM. I believe it is inevitable, no matter your profession or the level of involvement you have in your job, there is something else to do.

From my personal experience — and despite of being a self proclaimed multi-tasking superhero — I can’t deny that one of the most important things in my mind when I get my work mode on comes from something I heard many winters ago: the phrase ‘Ordem e Progresso’, which underlines the shield in Brazil’s national flag. I recently found out it was coined not by the people of Brazil, but by August Comte, French philosopher and father of positivism. Leaving the historic fun facts aside, this sentence has been tattooed deeply into my life philosophy and reminds me to keep focused on one task at the time.

It’s quite amusing that in our branding universe, where every project is unique and far off from the next one — one day it’s a law firm and boutique hotels, and the next one is a Silicon Valley startup and a mezcal brand — jumping from industry to industry has given me the chance to find my balance in order and processes.

Years go by and we are still refining the steps to birth brands. At tbpmx, we know that is almost impossible to have a perfect process; we always have in mind that learning is an upscaling process were our capabilities grow with each project. Throughout distinct brandings and processes, the order has to take over our work dynamic. Honestly, I don’t know if it is supposed to be this way but I know that’s how it is for now: behind every concept, Pantone code and logo resides order.
