Kengai

Kengai is an urban izakaya that offers large plates of rare steward cuts and heirloom vegetables meant to share. The restaurant features a chef's omakase experience, high-quality ingredients, and teppanyaki action to create imaginative and fun dishes. Inspired by post-WWII Japanese cuisine, tbpmx developed a concept showcasing the Asian influence in Mexico using the Jacaranda Tree as its main inspiration. tbpmx created a visual system that incorporates the tree's crooked and curly branches with organic shapes reminiscent of flowers and nature, using bluish-purple shades extracted from its buds, as well as a texture inspired in Japanese calligraphic style; hence, creating an overall brand that speaks about both cultures alike.
